Yule-tied Greetings!

It all started with a few bags of zip ties…

which were formed into rings, and then zipped into squares…

The squares were zipped into sheets…

and the sheets got bigger

until we had enough to shape into a tree.

The acrylic centre post supports the fishing line skeleton…

and finally, after untold hours, it starts to come together!

The tree was donated to the 2011 Festival of Trees, and entered into the festival's tree design competition, where it won Gold and People’s Choice awards!

Proceeds from this year’s festival will help to advance the Head and Neck Cancer Surgery Program at the University of Alberta Hospital.
